deja

A familiar heart. A gentle soul. A legacy worth continuing.

Some dogs feel like they were meant to find their way to you. For us, Deja has always felt like a piece of the past returning home. Named Deja because she is, in so many ways, her mama Lue reborn, she carries her mother's beautiful looks and that same special personality that made us fall in love with Lue. Watching those familiar qualities shine through in Deja has been such a gift.

Deja is everything we love about an Australian Shepherd, wrapped in the gentlest package. She is calm, quiet, and wonderfully uncomplicated. Her soft-hearted nature and easygoing personality make her the kind of dog who effortlessly fits into every part of our lives. Sometimes, you would hardly believe she is an Aussie—until you see her intelligence, devotion, and incredible ability to connect with her people. Deja's greatest talent might simply be making everyone feel loved.

She is an enthusiastic participant in puppy yoga, always ready to lend her services as a professional puppy snuggler. She has also happily accepted the role of official Coyote Creek greeter, making sure every person who walks through our door receives a warm welcome and plenty of affection.

Keeping Deja was, without question, one of the best decisions we ever made. She continues to impress us every day, not only with how easy she is to live with, but with her ability to adapt to whatever adventure we include her in. Whether she is relaxing at home, joining us in our daily routines, or simply being a loyal companion by our side, Deja proves exactly what a true family dog should be.

Her greatest gift, however, has been the puppies she has given us. Deja consistently produces some of the most mild-tempered, gentle, and wonderful puppies we could ever hope for. She has passed along her calm nature, her loving personality, and that special ability to make people feel connected to her. Deja and Kix truly seem to be a match made in heaven. Together, they have given us some incredible puppies, including our sweet keeper boy, Walker, who carries forward the qualities we treasure so deeply.

We are absolutely obsessed with Deja. She is not just a beautiful dog or a valuable part of our program. She is family.

Sometimes the best decisions are the ones your heart makes before your head catches up.
