For us, grooming was never about adding another service.

It was about continuing a relationship.

Long before we ever offered grooming appointments, we were grooming our own dogs.

As our breeding program grew, introducing puppies to the grooming table became a natural part of their early development. Gentle handling, positive experiences, and learning to feel comfortable with grooming became another way to prepare them for confident, successful lives.

Over time, something became clear.

One of the hardest parts of raising puppies wasn't watching them leave—it was no longer being part of their everyday lives.

We loved hearing updates from our families. We treasured seeing our puppies grow into incredible companions. Every visit reminded us that while they had left our home, they had never left our hearts.

That desire to remain part of their journey inspired the next chapter of Coyote Creek.

I returned to school to become a professional groomer because I wanted to continue caring for the dogs we had the privilege of raising.

Grooming became more than maintaining a beautiful coat.

It became another opportunity to watch our puppies grow, celebrate milestones with their families, answer questions, offer guidance, and continue supporting them throughout their lives.

Today, Coyote Creek Grooming welcomes not only our own puppy families, but every dog entrusted to our care.

Whether your dog was born at Coyote Creek or is visiting us for the very first time, each appointment is approached with the same patience, compassion, and respect.

How often should my dog be groomed?

Every dog is different, and the ideal grooming schedule depends on their breed, coat type, lifestyle, and how much maintenance is done at home.

As a general guideline:

Curly and continuously growing coats: every 4–8 weeks
Double-coated breeds: every 6–12 weeks, with seasonal de-shedding as needed
Bath and maintenance appointments: as required to keep coats healthy and comfortable

We're always happy to recommend a grooming schedule that's tailored specifically to your dog.

My dog has never been professionally groomed. Is that okay?

Absolutely!

Every dog has to start somewhere, and we're happy to meet them exactly where they are.

Whether your dog is a young puppy experiencing grooming for the first time or an older dog who has never visited a groomer, we'll work patiently and at their pace to help create a positive experience.

Our goal is to build trust—not rush the process.

Do you groom puppies?

Yes! We offer a Puppy Grooming Introduction for puppies under five months of age.

These appointments are intentionally slow-paced and designed to help puppies build confidence while becoming familiar with the sights, sounds, and handling involved in grooming.

A positive first experience can help shape how your puppy feels about grooming for years to come.

My dog is nervous or anxious. Can you still groom them?

Absolutely.

Many dogs feel uncertain during grooming, especially if they're young or have had limited experience.

Patience, kindness, and positive handling are at the heart of everything we do. We work at your dog's comfort level and never want grooming to become a frightening experience.

If your dog needs extra time, breaks, or a modified approach, we'll always do our best to accommodate their individual needs.

Do you groom dogs that weren't bred by Coyote Creek?

Yes!

While we love seeing our Coyote Creek alumni return, we're equally excited to welcome new families and their dogs.

Whether your companion has been with us since birth or is visiting for the very first time, every dog receives the same thoughtful care, patience, and respect.

Do Coyote Creek alumni receive any special benefits?

Yes.

Dogs born at Coyote Creek receive special alumni grooming pricing as part of our continued commitment to the families who have welcomed one of our puppies into their lives.

Our relationship doesn't end when a puppy goes home—it simply enters a new chapter.

What happens if my dog's coat is matted?

Our priority is always your dog's comfort and wellbeing.

If we discover matting that requires additional grooming time or a different grooming approach, we'll discuss the options with you whenever possible before proceeding.

We never judge.

Our role is to help your dog feel comfortable while providing honest recommendations for future coat maintenance.

Should I brush my dog before their appointment?

If your dog enjoys being brushed, a light brush before their appointment is always nice but not necessary at all.

If your dog's coat has become tangled or matted, please don't worry or attempt to remove severe mats yourself, as this can unintentionally hurt your dog.

We're happy to assess their coat and recommend the safest and most comfortable approach.

How long does a grooming appointment take?

Appointment times vary depending on your dog's size, coat type, temperament, and the services requested.

Rather than rushing appointments, we allow the time each dog needs to have a calm and positive grooming experience.

When your dog is ready for pickup, we'll contact you.

Do you require vaccinations?

Yes.

For the health and safety of all dogs visiting Coyote Creek Grooming, we ask that dogs are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations.

If you have any questions regarding your dog's vaccination status, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Can I stay while my dog is being groomed?

To help dogs remain calm and focused, we ask that owners leave their dogs in our care during their appointment.

Many dogs settle much more quickly once they have the opportunity to build trust with their groomer without the distraction of their family being nearby.

Rest assured, your dog's comfort and wellbeing remain our highest priority throughout their visit.

Will my dog be kenneled?

We generally don't kennel dogs unless you have more than one in for grooming, in that case your other pup waits in a 4x6 pod beside us while we groom his/her fur sibling. This ensure that your dog is safe while we are busy grooming and are still able to maintain supervision. Don't worry though, your sweet pup will be rewarded for their patience with treats and chews to keep them busy while they wait.

We strive to create a calm, low-stress environment and schedule appointments thoughtfully to minimize waiting time whenever possible.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is due upon completion of your dog's grooming appointment.

Accepted payment methods will be listed at the time of booking. We can do e-transfer, cash or you can pay directly through the online booking app.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We completely understand that life happens.

If you need to change your appointment, we simply ask that you provide as much notice as possible, preferably 24 hours if at al possible. This allows us the opportunity to offer that appointment time to another family waiting for grooming.
